| Obituary : Mrs. Lucy Edgar Beard Ferguson, 56, of Huntington, died Saturday, October 24, 1964 in St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Ferguson was born September 30, 1908 at Auburn in Culpeper, Virginia, the second daughter of Thomas Lee and Nettie Callison Beard. After the death of her mother in 1915, the family came back to Hillsboro. She was married to Cecil J. Ferguson in 1930. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington and of the Huntington Women's Club. Surviving are her husband and two sons, James Thomas Ferguson of Grayson, Kentucky; and Alfred Ferguson of Huntington; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Virginia) Covington of Alexandria, VA, and Mrs. Lee (Maude) Ruckman, of Beard, and a brother, Carl Beard of Charleston. Funeral services were held Monday at the Klingle-Carpenter Funeral Home in Huntington by Dr. Lynn P. Jones with burial in Wilshire Boulevard Memorial Gardens. |
| Carl G. Beard of Hillsboro suffered serious head injuries last Saturday evening when his car struck a telephone post on the road near Seebert lane. He is at the Pocahontas Memorial Hospital for treatment. |
